Sponsoring the Storm
The New England Storm is proud to announce its fourth season of women's professional football in 2006. We will continue in our partnership with the City of Medford and Hormel Stadium as the site of our home games and promotional events in the Greater Boston area. As part of the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL), a full contact women's American tackle football league going into its fourth season, the Storm will continue to provide great football and superb women's athleticism to the East Coast.
Women's team sports are currently the fastest growing segment of the professional sports marketplace, and the WPFL stands at the forefront of this revolution. Debuting in October of 2000, the Storm has toured the country spreading the gospel of the gridiron to fans from Providence to Denver to Houston. As part of our burgeoning success during the 2001 season, the Storm partnered with the New England Patriots of the National Football League. Those familiar with the WPFL want to see more, and football fans that have yet to see a WPFL game are clamoring to see their first game.
With our 'partners in crime' having just ripped the Superbowl championship I am confident that the Storm and the WPFL will be miles ahead in making women's professional football the next favorite pastime in America!
Past, present, and future
During the first three seasons, the Storm serviced major corporate sponsors including Coca-Cola, Nextel, Papa Gino's, D'Angelos the New England Patriots and the Mohegan Sun Casino. Most recently, the Storm signed Hard Rock Café, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and The Tage Inn as major sponsors. The Storm will be hosting all their post-game parties for family and friends at the Hard Rock in Boston. In addition, there is no doubt that the Storm's presence in the community will only increase in the coming months as we continue to promote young athletes through our year-round clinic programs for girls and boys ages 8-15 throughout New England as well as collegiate athletes through our internship program.
