Dear Missi and the New England Storm,
Thank you very much for letting me interview you and some of the players for my school project. It was an experience that I will always remember. Before I knew about the New England Storm, I was a huge fan of the Boston Breakers. I looked up to all of the players and when the league folded, I was devastated. For my school project, I decided to learn about why women’s professional sports leagues were less successful than men’s because I was so close to the WUSA.
When I was thinking of people to interview, I found the New England Storm website and I read about the team and how Missi and two other current team owners saved the league from disappearing. I instantly knew that I found a new group of people who I could look up to. I immediately tried to arrange an interview and I was thrilled when you said that you would meet with me. When I arrived at the interview, I was a little nervous because I did not know what to expect. I thought that you guys would be huge women who were a little grumpy. When I began the interviews, I discovered that I was completely wrong. Everyone that I talked to was extremely nice and they were very helpful with my report. I was very impressed with everyone and I wanted to say thank you again for your time. You are all definitely people who are good role models for young female athletes. You will be sure to see me at your games this season!
Sincerely,
Amanda S.
